Charleston’s Palmetto Primary Care Physicians Partners with KidsLink to Empower Parents to Manage Their Families’ Health

New App Organizes Vital Medical Records, Provides Health and Wellness Alerts, and Allows Parents to Share Special Moments Privately and Securely

CHARLESTON, S.C. – December 11, 2014 – KidsLink, an innovative app allowing parents to organize their family’s important information with the swipe of a finger, is now available in Charleston through a partnership with Palmetto Primary Care Physicians. The invitation-only iPhone app provides a secure vault for each child’s medical, vaccination and other important information that can be kept private or shared with select caregivers and family, as well as a storyboard that auto-scrapbooks and archives family memories and milestones.

ppcp_screenshotPalmetto Primary Care Physicians selected KidsLink to ensure that parents keep their family’s wellness top-of-mind through health alert notifications, reminders and updates. The independent physician’s group will provide its patients an opportunity to join KidsLink, ensuring that children never miss a wellness visit or immunization and that parents are armed with the latest news, warning signs and care advice for breaking public health issues.

“As the first healthcare provider in Charleston to integrate with KidsLink, we’re excited to provide our patients with a new way to proactively manage their families’ health,” said Miriam Stanley, Director of Quality Improvement and Care Coordination for Palmetto Primary Care Physicians. “Partnering with KidsLink allows us to strengthen our existing community health programs designed to help families take responsibility for their own health by providing a more effective communication tool for important alerts and reminders.”

In a pilot program of 2,500 moms, users raved about how the app gave them immediate access to information without having to dig through piles of paperwork and allowed them to share privately. In addition to Charleston, KidsLink is available in Charlotte, North Carolina, through Piedmont Medical Center and Atlanta, Georgia, through Piedmont Healthcare, which used the app to warn parents of a local West Nile outbreak over the summer.

Founded on the premise that parenting is the toughest job in the world, but the most under-serviced from a technology solution standpoint, KidsLink combines the best of a trusted social network with a highly secure filing system via three key features: the Stream, Vault and Storyboard. Through the Stream, parents can privately connect and seek advice from their close and trusted family and friends. The Storyboard auto-scrapbooks every child’s moments and organizes them chronologically, making the need to weed through photos and recall dates obsolete, while the Vault is a secure place to keep all important information for easy access, such as insurance cards and immunization records. Vault files can be shared with family, caregivers and healthcare providers as needed. Click here to watch how the app works.

“We founded KidsLink after hearing from thousands of parents that they needed a secure, seamless way to organize all of the details that come with having children – from immunization records to artwork,” said Chris Morocco, CEO of KidsLink. “Plus, parents are increasingly concerned about preserving their children’s digital legacies – the online footprint that we create for our children with public posts about them. KidsLink provides a secure way for parents to document and share their children’s special moments with a small, trusted circle of friends.”

KidsLink is available by invitation-only. Click here or visit Palmetto Primary Care to request an invite, which can be redeemed in the iTunes App Store. Visit mykidslink.com for details.

Atlanta Parents Launch KidsLink to Provide Moms a Secure Way to Organize and Share Her World

New App Organizes Vital Health Records, Auto-scrapbooks Milestones, and Provides a Private Way to Share Family Memories

ATLANTA – Sept. 23, 2014 – KidsLink, an innovative app allowing moms to organize their children’s important information, milestones and memories with the swipe of a finger, is now available for iPhones in the iTunes App Store after successful beta and pilot testing. The app, created by Atlanta-based parents and entrepreneurs, provides moms with a secure storyboard and vault for each child that can be kept private or shared with select caregivers, family and friends.

Founded on the premise that the job of being Mom is one of the toughest to manage in the world, but the most under-serviced from a technology solution standpoint, KidsLink combines the best of a trusted social network with a highly secure filing system via three key features: the Stream, Vault and Storyboard. Through the Stream, moms can privately connect and seek advice from their close and trusted family and friends. The Storyboard auto-scrapbooks every child’s moments and organizes them chronologically, making the need to weed through photos and recall dates obsolete, while the Vault is a secure place to keep all important information for easy access, such as art, insurance cards and immunization records. Vault files can be shared with family, caregivers and healthcare providers as needed.

In a pilot program of 2,500 moms in select Atlanta preschools, moms raved about how the app gave them immediate access to information without having to dig through piles of paperwork, eliminated “baby book guilt” and allowed them to share special moments privately.

“The ability to easily chronicle my son’s life absolves my never-ending mom guilt for not keeping up with his baby book,” said iTunes user Tigscloset. “Love the safety/privacy, and the document vault is a lifesaver. Awesome all around.”

“With a combined 23 children among our team, plus our network of thousands of moms who have provided us with invaluable input along the way, we know moms need ONE app to provide everything they need to organize their children’s worlds,” said Chris Morocco, CEO of KidsLink. “Further, many of today’s moms are concerned with how to preserve their children’s digital legacies – the online footprint that we create for our children with public posts about them. KidsLink provides a secure alternative by allowing moms to document and share their children’s special moments with a small, trusted circle of friends.”

Atlanta’s Piedmont Healthcare has partnered with KidsLink to help moms keep track of health records and receive immediate health alert notifications, ensuring that they never miss a child’s wellness visit, a breaking public health issue, etc.

“We are always looking for ways to make wellness a top priority for our community and patients,” said Matt Gove, chief marketing officer for Piedmont Healthcare. “What I love about KidsLink is that it’s a lifestyle app that integrates health and wellness, giving us the opportunity to reach mom with vital information and help keep her children’s health at her fingertips.”

With $1 million in funding, KidsLink launches platform to organize America’s families

Innovator makes debut at Type-A Parent Conference

ATLANTA – Sept. 27, 2013 – On the heels of a successful pilot program at several prominent metro Atlanta preschools, family management app KidsLink announces its beta-launch on September 27, 2013 at the Type-A Parent Conference in Atlanta. Designed for modern parents to manage the infant through adolescent years of their children’s lives, the KidsLink platform includes a dashboard app which features a vault to store and share important documents and milestones, as well as reminders to maintain family wellness.

“Today’s parents have to track a mountain of paperwork for their family—from immunizations to field trip releases to sports physicals—because most institutions and organizations struggle with legacy systems,” says Chris Morocco, CEO of KidsLink. “KidsLink streamlines family organization to allow moms to focus on the business of being a mother, not an administrator.”

Through KidsLink, moms and dads can import, aggregate and share important documents on their smart phone, tablet or desktop, rendering hard copy forms—like health insurance or immunization records—obsolete. In addition, KidsLink users also receive seasonal and developmental alerts and helpful prompts to visually capture major milestones and life events, such as first steps or the first day of school. Complete with social sharing capabilities and Facebook compatibility, KidsLink offers connected parents the ability to then share important moments in their children’s lives with their online community.

KidsLink is initially targeting distribution of its dashboard app via channels that parents already rely on today as trusted advisors, including hospitals, pediatricians, OBs, and preschools, though users may access or install the beta app directly by visiting mykidslink.com.

To date, KidsLink has received over $1 million in funding from several investors, including BLH Venture Partners, as well as former ChoicePoint, Inc., President and COO Doug Curling, and his investment firm New Kent Capital.

Moms as Leading Tech Adopters

Moms are not newcomers to the technological frontier. In fact, recent studies have shown that women are the leading tech adopters in internet and mobile phone usage as well as social networking. The modern mother not only embraces the benefits of technology, but she also harnesses it in all aspects of her life, including parenting. KidsLink enables connected moms to bypass the current outdated medical and milestone documentation tools and use technology to facilitate a new level of family organization.

Following the beta-launch at the Type-A Parent Conference, users will be able to access and/or install the app at www.mykidslink.com. The dashboard will be available to beta users on their desktops, tablets and mobile devices.
